Summary

Most Americans do not understand the real threat that the "transgender" agenda， or the so-called "gender identity" movement， poses to all of us —especially women and girls — nor do they understand the extent to which it is taking over U。S。 law and civil society。 The simple truth is that "gender identity" functions to abolish sex， and all of our civic institutions — government， media， academia， and business — have been completely captured by it。

We have been told that "transgender" is a word to describe a marginalized group of people who are in need of civil rights protection; it is not。 Instead， it is an incoherent word that is being used to advance a much broader agenda。 There are many people — including people on the political left — who understand the threat that enshrining “gender identity” in law and society poses， but they are silenced when they try to speak out。

This book shines a light on the truth about "gender identity，" the "transgender" agenda， the very real threats that they pose to all of society — specifically to the rights， privacy， and safety of women and girls — and what the global Women’s Human Rights Campaign is doing to fight back。

If someone had tried to sell Americans the idea that sex isn’t real by quoting some harebrained scheme cooked up by a handful of off-the-wall academics， it never would have succeeded。 Everyone， after all， knows how babies are made。 In order to accomplish the goal of persuading Americans to go along with the pretence that sex doesn’t exist， we needed a new word。 That magic word is “transgender。” [p105]That one little word has accomplished so much more than the queer theorists ever would have been If someone had tried to sell Americans the idea that sex isn’t real by quoting some harebrained scheme cooked up by a handful of off-the-wall academics， it never would have succeeded。 Everyone， after all， knows how babies are made。 In order to accomplish the goal of persuading Americans to go along with the pretence that sex doesn’t exist， we needed a new word。 That magic word is “transgender。” [p105]That one little word has accomplished so much more than the queer theorists ever would have been able to accomplish， sitting in their ivory towers and preaching to the converted about "queering the binary。" [p107]The first difficulty we all face in addressing this topic is that the idea of abolishing sex is too bizarre and incredible to be seriously considered。 This book does an excellent job of listing the evidence of this taking place before our eyes， primarily with reference to the Biden administration’s energetic abuse of Executive Orders and the consistent failure of the US courts to rule in favour of women and girls。 This is probably the main achievement of the book。 A second difficulty is accepting the harmful consequences of these changes。 The book is far too succinct and brief in listing the damage to women and girls， the absolute betrayal of their hard won rights and freedoms and the protection given to those men who intend only harm。 However， it avoids the real risk of overwhelming the reader so maybe this is a price worth paying。Another difficult is that it is very difficult to get a public conversation going about this。 The book describes the many ways by which all public debate and information is suppressed。 It also laments the tendency to associate any challenge to transgenderism with the Republican right， despite most serious feminists being to the left politically。 Hopefully this succinct， well written and punchy book will contribute to provoke a change。 It is ideal for people new to the debate because of its brevity， its clarity and its sanity。 A fourth difficulty is providing a credible explanation of the reason why this is happening。 Dansky largely relies on references to Janice Raymond’s classic “The Transsexual Empire。” She also briefly introduce readers to Jon Styker and his Arcus foundation， and to the weird “transhuman” obsessions of Martine Rothblatt。 Her point is not to make sense of the transgender movement but to observe that it does not make sense。 QuotesMost of us have been taught that the fight for so-called “transgender rights” is a bottom up grassroots movement to protect a vulnerable sexual minority。 It is not。 It is a top-down， corporate-driven enterprise designed to sell products and to maximise profits， being fuelled by a small handful of extremely wealthy men whose very objective is to make us all forget that biological sex， not “gender identity，” is grounded in material reality。 [p109]Sexual objectification of women is not about sex – it is about treating women like mere bodies to be used for male gratification。 This kind of objectification lies at the heart of “gender identity” as well。 This is true whether we are talking about men who claim to be women， women who claim to be men， or anyone who claims to be “non-binary。” [p111]Sexual objectification is not new and feminists have been fighting it for centuries。 What is relatively new is the evolution of the view that women exist solely for sexual and reproductive purposes into the notion that “woman” isn’t a meaningful category of human beings at all， but rather a concept – a figment of a man’s imagination。 If anyone can be a woman， then no one is a woman， and if a man can claim to exist as a woman by simply announcing that he is one， that is a complete mockery of womanhood。 The very concept of the “transgender woman” is the ultimate expression of the denial of women’s humanity。 [p118] 。。。more
